Unfortunately I was not able to be in class the day we had the debate on whether or not Frodo was successful so I thought I would add in my opinion. I believe Frodo was successful because even though stuff didn't necessarily go according to plan the end goal was accomplished and the ring was put into Mount Doom. Even though Gollum did get the ring and Frodo had a moment of weakness it all ended up working out and the goal of getting rid of the ring was accomplished. To me this means that Frodo was successful.
