In-Class Exercise: The Two Towers, Book III, Chapters 6-11

Mythopoeia. According to Merriam Webster's Dictionary, mythopoeia is defined as a creating of myth. J.R.R. Tolkien included many, many examples of mythopoeia throughout his works, in fact, it's quite amazing just how much he was able to create. One could even say that Tolkien mastered the art of mythopoeia. One specific example of an event that will probably become a myth in Middle Earth would be the Ents fighting back against Sauroman in Isengard. This unforeseen act of rebellion and show of force, on behalf of creatures that were sort of overlooked prior to this event, will become a story that will be told to generations. This type of thing had never happened before, making it all the more unique and interesting. The Ents, because of their actions, will forever be considered creatures never to be underestimated or taken advantage of.
